Dear Selection Committee,
I appreciate your consideration for the opportunity to serve as your Scout Executive. As a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America, an Eagle Scout, and a Den Leader for my daughter's den, I know first hand the impact this program can have on the lives of people both young and old. If selected, I will work diligently to help secure a brighter future for Scouting in the communities served by the Westmoreland-Fayette Council.
I have designed this website as a means to help you get a feel for who I am and what I could offer to help the Council Executive Board achieve their goals. I look forward to meeting each of you and learning how I might best serve the families of the Westmoreland-Fayette Council.
Thank you again for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Testimonial
I am honored to be a friend of, and mentor to, Marcus. During the last three plus years Marcus has served as the Director of Field Service/Chief Operating Officer for the Seneca Waterways Council. As such, Marcus is a highly respected and integral part of the Council's leadership team. His passion for Scouting, work ethic, even-temperament and integrity are keys to his leadership successes. I firmly believe those traits will also make him a very successful Scout Executive.
David Lippitt,
Seneca Waterways Council President: 2013-2015
Northeast Region Area 3 President: 2018-current
Current Project
Western New York is blessed with many volunteers with data analytics skills. Leveraging these resources, we are embarking on a project to do business analytics on our membership data using Power BI. It has the potential to uncover previously unidentified trends that can help us prioritize the actions that have the biggest impact on recruitment, retention, and new unit development. We intend to use this information to gain efficiency.

Marcus Ragland is a man who truly believes in the values of Scouting and what they can do for our youth and communities and is even a Cub Scout Leader in his daughter’s pack. He lives by the Oath and Law and is committed to bettering the organization. I am proud to call Marcus a friend and believe he would be an asset to your Council as he has been to ours.
Valerie Kalwas,
Seneca Waterways Council Commissioner: 2014-2018
current Northeast Region Area 3 Membership Chair
